O EFEITO DA KINESIO TAPING SOBRE A DOR E AMPLITUDE DE MOVIMENTO EM PACIENTES COM DISFUNÇÃO TEMPOROMANDIBULAR (DTM)

Abstract

A Disfunção Temporomandibular (DTM) é considerada a causa mais comum de dor crônica não dentária na região orofacial, com prevalência estimada de 31% em adultos e idosos e 11% em crianças e adolescentes. Embora possa ocorrer em qualquer idade, é mais comum entre indivíduos de 20 a 40 anos. A DTM pode ser definida por um conjunto de distúrbios que envolvem os músculos mastigatórios, a articulação temporomandibular (ATM) e/ou estruturas associadas. Objetivo: Analisar o efeito da KT sobre a dor e amplitude de movimento de pacientes com disfunção temporomandibular. Metodologia: Foi realizado uma revisão sistemática com busca na base de dados Pubmed, PEDro, Medline e Cochrane Library. Os artigos selecionados foram ensaios clínicos que abordavam sobre o tratamento da DTM com o uso da KT, entre 2010 à 2022, em inglês e português. Conforme foi realizado a pesquisa. Resultado: Foram encontrados 23 artigos, dos quais 5 foram selecionados. Conclusão: Os resultados foram positivos evidenciando o uso da kinesio taping para o tratamento da DTM.
