DISTRIBUTION: Oaxaca, Veracruz and Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) to Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, SE Brazil and Guianas; Trinidad and Tobago; Grenada (Lesser Antilles); perhaps Jamaica, N Lesser Antilles. SYNONYMS: amplexicaudata, azteca, brachyotus, braziliensis, calcaratum, tricolor, verrucata. COMMENTS: Includes tricolor; see Pine (1972).
