Helicobacter pylori en pacientes con gastritis en un centro asistencial de Encarnación

Abstract

La gastritis es una enfermedad inflamatoria, aguda o crónica, que afecta el revestimiento del estómago o la mucosa, una de sus principales causas es la infección por la bacteria Helicobacter pylori, en el presente trabajo se tuvo como objetivo determinar la prevalencia de dicha bacteria a través del dosaje de anticuerpos en sangre y detección de antígenos en heces en pacientes diagnosticados con gastritis que acuden al área de gastroenterología de un Centro Asistencial de Referencia de la ciudad de Encarnación, departamento de Itapúa, durante el periodo de setiembre a diciembre del 2020. La muestra estuvo integrada por 77 pacientes de ambos sexos, de 18 a 75 años, y los ensayos utilizados fueron inmunocromatografía y enzimoinmunoanálisis para detección de antígenos y anticuerpos respectivamente. Del total de los pacientes en estudio, 26 de ellos resultaron positivos para H. pylori, hubo predominio del sexo femenino (69.2%). La población joven (18 a 28 años) fue la que presentó mayor porcentaje (38,5%) de infecciones por dicha bacteria. Un 13% resultó positivo a los antígenos en materia fecal y un 28,6% en suero al determinar anticuerpos contra el patógeno.
