Abstract

Unter Open Science versteht die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), dass wissenschaftliche Praktiken und Prozesse mit dem Ziel etabliert oder gestaltet werden, Forschungsergebnisse langfristig offen zugänglich zu machen und damit die bessere Nutzbarkeit durch die Wissenschaft selbst und andere Akteure zu gewährleisten. Die DFG betrachtet Open Science als eine Konsequenz der digitalen Transformation von Forschungsprozessen, die wesentliche Funktionen in der wissenschaftlichen Praxis hat. Die DFG befasst sich mit der Ausgestaltung von Open Science vor dem Hintergrund ihrer Rolle und ihrer Aufgaben im Wissenschaftssystem. Bezogen auf Open Science sieht die DFG ihre Aufgabe darin, Rahmenbedingungen für Open Science unter Berücksichtigung der Bedarfe der Wissenschaft auszugestalten. Sie unterstützt Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler sowie wissenschaftliche Infrastruktureinrichtungen bei der Etablierung und Anwendung von Open-Science-Praktiken. Die DFG positioniert sich für die Weiterentwicklung von Open-Science-Prinzipien und -Praktiken auf Basis einer differenzierten Betrachtung sowohl der Potenziale als auch der Herausforderungen von Open Science für die Wissenschaft.
