Abstract

O intuito deste texto é redigir um artigo cientifico de revisão sobre o ferro cinzento FC-250, analisando sua extração na natureza, sua família estrutural, composições químicas, diagrama de fases, microestruturas, composição, condutividade elétrica, resistência mecânica, entre outros, afim de ponderar se sua utilização na construção de discos de freio é adequada e o porquê desta liga, levando em consideração que essa família de ferro fundido cinzento é a mais usada nas industrias automotivas, e muito aplicadas em blocos de motores por ter uma boa resistência ao desgaste. A metodologia utilizada foi ler e interpretar diversos artigos acadêmicos que relatam sobre este material e unificar estas pesquisas em uma voltada ao propósito do disco de freio, um equipamento que exige uma boa adaptação em máquinas, razoável resistência a corrosão, resistência ao desgaste e um baixo custo, já que é um conceito voltado para a indústria e exige produção em larga escala. Neste texto foi possível entender que o FC-250 se adequa bem aos requisitos voltados ao disco de freio, analisando sua microestrutura foi possível entender o porquê de tais características e a excelência delas proporciona um material ideal para este propósito.
