sp. 1 (Fig. 66) Material examined. Paraguay: 1 ♀, Dpto. [Departamento] Boquerón, P.N. Tte Enciso [Parque Nacional Teniente Enciso], Siracua, 08.viii.1994, B. Barrias col., Colecten Tajamar (MNHNPY; MNHNP-HX 2057). Distribution. Paraguay (Boquerón: Parque Nacional Teniente Enciso). Comments. The limits between the genera Chordonota Gerstaecker, 1857 and Abasanistus Kertész, 1923 are not well understood (Woodley 2001: 334). This species, in particular, is smaller than the other Chordonota species and it also has an orange head with dark markings, as seen in, for example, A. aureopicus James, 1973b (see Fachin et al. 2021: 37). However, this species and, as far as we know, all Chordonota species have the pedicel at least two times longer than scape, while they are subequal in size in Abasanistus. This species, Chordonota sp. 1 (Fig. 66), is likely an undescribed taxon as the genus has not been revised.
