Abstract

Das Projekt "Open Data Format" entwickelt im Rahmen von KonsortSWD der NFDI ein offenes Datenformat, um den Austausch und die Nachnutzung von Forschungsdaten zu verbessern und den Zugang zu Dokumentationsmaterialen unmittelbar über die Statistik-Software zu ermöglichen. Gegenwärtig verwenden Sozialwissenschaftler:innen zur Analyse der Daten verschiedene und teilweise proprietäre Software, die Metadaten auf unterschiedliche Weise verarbeitet. Datenformate von statistischen Softwarepaketen, sind nur teilweise kompatibel und stellen ein Hindernis für Replikationsstudien dar. Insbesondere gefährden proprietäre Datenformate die in den FAIR-Prinzipien verankerte Forderung nach Interoperabilität. Darüber hinaus ist das Potential verfügbarer Metadaten für Datennutzer:innen nicht ausgeschöpft. Das Offene Datenformat kann mit mehrsprachigen Metadaten sowie weiterführenden Links zu Datenportalen angereichert werden, was den direkten Zugang zu Dokumentationsmaterialien über die Statistik-Software selbst ermöglicht. Der Vortrag gibt einen Einblick in den aktuellen Arbeitsstand des Projektes, wie die Spezifikation des Metadaten Profils sowie die Entwicklung von Import- und Export-Filtern für die Statistik-Programme R und Stata.
