What I Wish I Had Known: Post Academic Women and Their Advice for Leaving the Academy

I asked eighty women what they wished they had known before they left the academy. My goal was to better understand what advice they would have given themselves with the benefit of hindsight. I gave them a short survey as well as space to write their own thoughts on the following questions: (1) “What do you wish you had known before you left? (2) “What advice would you give someone who is considering leaving?” This report shares their experiences and stories.
