Abstract

Die Informationswissenschaft ist im Wandel – dies gilt aktuell insbesondere für die Düsseldorfer Informationswissenschaft. Von 2003 bis 2019 war Prof. Wolfgang G. Stock Leiter für den Lehrstuhl Informationswissenschaft an der HHU Düsseldorf und Nachfolger von Prof. Norbert Henrichs. Da der Weg der Düsseldorfer Informationswissenschaft im Jahr 2023 enden soll, ist die IWWT22 am 6. und 7. Oktober 2022 im Haus der Universität in Düsseldorf ein angemessener Weg, ein letztes Mal mit dem Kollegium vor Ort zusammenzukommen. Die Grundpfeiler der traditionellen Informationswissenschaft bilden thematische Schwerpunkte wie Archiv- und Bibliothekswesen, aber auch Suchmaschinen und Fachdatenbanken. Mit neuen Technologien und Informationssystemen sowie gesellschaftlichem und kulturellem Wandel und daraus resultierenden Herausforderungen sind thematische und methodische Veränderungen und Anforderungen innerhalb der Informationswissenschaft bemerkbar. Heute sind Themen wie Open Science, Infodemie, digitale Bibliotheken, Wissenschaftskommunikation, Künstliche Intelligenz (insbesondere Maschinelles Lernen), Virtuelle Realität oder Social Media keine Fremdwörter in der Informationswissenschaft. Der Tagungsband beinhaltet unter anderem Beiträge über Information Retrieval und Wissensrepräsentation, Informationsverhalten, Szientometrie, die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit Methoden und weitere Themen.
