El tema central no es la tecnología de la comunicación, sino como la nueva pedagogía y la inserción de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación TIC’s vienen a golpear el modelo pedagógico tradicional, al crear una nueva pedagogía a partir de éstas, en este sentido la contratación de profesores no tendrá como objetivo dictar clases sino trabajar en grupos de producción, materiales educativos, ser tutor en red. Estos cambios determinarán la forma, el contendido, y las condiciones logísticas de la enseñanza virtual. El uso de Plataformas Tecnológicas en la educación superior coadyuva a propiciar el aprendizaje en los estudiantes, sin embargo es necesario saber cómo aprenden los alumnos, que estrategias de aprendizaje son utilizadas al trabajar con Plataformas Tecnológicas y determinar si éstas son pertinentes.
