Este artículo presenta la importancia de la debida actuación de los servidores públicos ante la obligación que se le genera a toda autoridad de promover, respetar, garantizar y proteger los derechos humanos en nuestro país. Se aborda a partir de la transformación del Estado Mexicano a partir de 2011, los antecedentes de los Derechos Humanos, y las obligaciones de los servidores públicos ante los derechos humanos bajo los principios de universalidad, interdependencia, indivisibilidad y progresividad.
