This repository is a collection of free software tools that are used in projects using Maneage (Managing data lineage). Maneage is a framework used for organizing research (or, project management) such that it is reproducible and easily publishable/archivable. For more, please see maneage.org, or Akhlaghi et al. (2020, arXiv:2006.03018 or zenodo.3872247). As part of ensuring reproducibility, Maneage also builds specific versions of the project's necessary software from source. In this sense, the software source code is also an "input data" for a project which must be preserved along with numerical data that are fed to the software. While most software are currently available in their own webpages, this may not always be the case: private webpages don't have resources like Zenodo to be able to promise long-term availability. Hence we are keeping a backup of all the ready-to-build software source code in this repository. Note that the raw source code of most software (which may be archived in projects like Software Heritage) is not always usable for a build: many raw software source codes need to be bootstrapped first. These are all free software, so even though we have not written them, we are allowed to re-distribute them (like the case here). But the exact license of each software is a different variations of free software licenses, so look into its source for its precise license (the generic license shown on Zenodo may not apply).
