Abstract

Ülkemizdeki ve dünyada her geçen gün insan nüfusu artmaktadır. Bu durum da hayvansal gıdalara olan ihtiyacı beraberinde getirmektedir. Hayvancılığın temeli olan yem bitkileri toprak, çevre gibi faktörler sebebiyle hayvansal ürün ihtiyacını karşılayacak seviyede artamamış hatta oransal açıdan yetersiz kalmaya başlamıştır. Bu sebeple tarımsal alanlarsa yem bitkisi kaynağı arayışları başlamıştır. Bu bağlamda yem kaynağı olabilecek bitkilerden bir tanesi de Poaeceae familyasına ait kamış (Phragmıtes australıs (Cav.) Trın Ex. Steud) bitkisidir. Araştırma materyali olan Kamış (Phragmıtes australıs (Cav.) Trın Ex. Steud) bitkisi 2020 yılında İzmir Gediz Havzası 4.Bölge dâhilindeki Çiğli ilçesi sulak alanlarından farklı gelişme dönemlerinde hasat edilmiş ve kuru madde verimi ile bazı kalite özellikleri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen verilerde; ADF, NDF, Ham yağ, ham kül, ham selüloz 1. Hasat döneminde, Kuru madde oranı ve kuru madde verimi 3. Hasat döneminde en verimli seviyede bulunmuştur. Bu sebeple hayvanların ihtiyacı olan besin içeriğine göre farklı dönemde hasat edilerek hayvanlara alternatif yem bitkisi kaynağı olabileceği saptanmıştır. Araştırmada kamış bitkisinin yem bitkisi açığının arttığı dönemlerde alternatif yem bitkisi olarak kullanılabilirliğinin olduğu düşünülmektedir
