Banco de leche materna en la Unidad de Patología Neonatal

Abstract

Estudio enmarcado en la modalidad de investigación de proyecto factible, de carácter descriptivo, apoyada en un diseño de campo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, su objetivo radica en la promoción de la existencia de un Banco de Leche Materna en la Unidad de Patología Neonatal del Hospital Universitario Dr. Antonio María Pineda, se aplicó previamente validado un instrumento a 7 enfermeras de la Unidad anteriormente mencionada. En los resultados, se destaca que el 100% del personal de salud considera necesario la creación del banco de leche materna, del mismo modo el 100% de los participantes opina que el Banco de Leche sería beneficioso para los pacientes. Por último, el 42% de la población abordada considera que tiene poco conocimiento acerca la organización y funcionalidad del Banco de Leche Materna. En conclusión el Banco en la Unidad de Patología Neonatal representa una necesidad y una idea beneficiosa para los pacientes de dicha unidad. Del mismo modo se concluye que la falta de conocimientos del Banco de Leche por parte del personal de Enfermería representa un factor determinante para la creación del mismo. Todas estas aseveraciones permitieron determinar las herramientas necesarias para lograr la existencia del Banco de Leche Materna en la Unidad, iniciando con la promoción a través de la realización de un protocolo acerca la organización y funcionalidad del Banco de Leche destinado al personal de Enfermería de la Unidad de Patología Neonatal, modificando así, uno de los factores que condiciona la existencia del Banco de Leche Materna en esta Unidad.
