Abstract

ABSTRACT Participation is praxis, a social and human right, to exercise individual and collective protagonism, as well as the formation of a citizen's identity. With this essay, we intend to address child participation as a fundamental pillar for the formation of human values, the citizenship of women and men of the future, as well as health care. The following topics were treated: the conception of participation from a simple and reductionist perspective, to a complex perspective, some considerations about childhood, childhood as an object to childhood as a subject of law, participation tendencies and a framework legal status in Venezuela, children's participation in health and leading children's participation. Under the perspective addressed, it can be concluded that, without a doubt, the recognition, development and exercise of the protagonism of children and adolescents as an ordinary, daily component, and way of life of society and childhood, today certainly denied, they constitute the central axis of the historical strategy to build a new humanity made up of citizens.
