Abstract

„(…), denn im ästhetischen Zustand befindet sich der Mensch in einem Gleichgewicht zwischen Sinnlichkeit und Vernunft, Empfinden und Denken. Dieser Nullzustand ist der Zustand höchster Potentialität (Kommentar in Schiller 2000: 239).“ Im Anschluss an meine bisherigen Beiträge über das Thema der Empfindung, der Ästhetik und der sinnlichen Erkenntnis, möchte ich mich nun den Gedanken Friedrich Schillers zur ästhetischen Erziehung des Menschen widmen. Nachdem ich mich im Rahmen des Rigorosums bereits mit dem Thema beschäftigt hatte, erscheint es mir dieser Tage wieder sehr aktuell. Im folgenden Aufsatz1 sollen die Grundgedanken Friedrich Schillers zur Ästhetik und ästhetischen Erziehung sowie zur Qualität der Beziehung von Sinnlichkeit und Vernunft sowie Empfinden und Denken erörtert und dargestellt werden. In erster Linie ist es eine Auseinandersetzung mit Schillers Arbeit Über die ästhetische Erziehung des Menschen (2000), basierend auf der 1795 erschienen Originalausgabe seines Werkes Über die ästhetische Erziehung des Menschen in einer Reihe von Briefen, in welcher neben einer Auswahl an Briefen auch die bekannten Augustenburger Briefe aus dem Jahr 1793 - verfasst an Graf Friedrich Christian von Augustenburg - veröffentlicht sind. Im Grunde möchte ich einige seiner Gedanken herausarbeiten und reflektieren, ich teile daher nur meinen Reflexionsprozess.
