Macroinvertebrados bentónicos intermareales de la Costa Oriental del Lago de Maracaibo, Venezuela

Abstract

Con el objeto de caracterizar la biodiversidad de macroinvertebrados en ambientes acuáticos intermareales, en dos playas del municipio Santa Rita, estado Zulia, Venezuela, se tomaron muestras por triplicado en 4 estaciones, midiendo salinidad, temperatura, sólidos suspendidos, nivel de la marea y transparencia. Los organismos fijados con formol al 10% y preservados en alcohol etílico glicerinado al 70%, fueron identificados mediante claves taxonómicas. Se determinó, la abundancia, riqueza específica (S) y diversidad (H’). La abundancia fue de 2672 ind/m2, con una riqueza de 12 especies correspondiente a 3 phyla, resaltándose la Arthropoda (Crustácea) y Mollusca con 8 y 3 especies, respectivamente. Las especies más abundantes fueron el cirrípedo Balanus amphitrite, el gasterópodo Neritina reclivata y el tanaidáceo Sinelobus stanfordi, en el sustrato rocoso y la lombriz terrestre LUMBRICIDAE spp., el caracol Pyrgophorus platyrachis y el anfípodo TALITRIDAE sp. en el arenoso. La diversidad osciló entre 0,71 y 0,94 en niveles de salinidad de 10 UPS, temperaturas de 34 °C, transparencia de 29-36 cm y sólidos suspendidos, entre 24,44 y 33,00 mg/L. Los valores encontrados están relacionados con la época lluviosa en donde se hizo el muestreo, donde hay disponibilidad de nutrientes, baja salinidad y el incremento del nivel de la marea.
