The article views genre peculiarities of the work of modern Kazakh children's writer Antonina Shipulina. The analysis reveals the mixture of folklore motives and fantasy genre signs, which allows to single out hybrid genres as a separate group in the genre system of modern children's literature in Kazakhstan.
