This is a collection of Mplus script of analysis for my project Gendered Difference in Motivation Profiles, Achievement and STEM Aspiration of Elementary School Students. In this project, I work with a dataset of Finnish elementary school students’ motivational beliefs (Subjective Task Value/STV and Self-concept of ability/SCA) towards math, science and Finnish in the last two years of elementary school; Grade 5 and 6. This study investigated the person-oriented patterns of students’ motivational beliefs in three academic domains, taking into account gendered difference and the students’ STEM aspiration at the end of primary school. Data were collected from students in Helsinki, Finland. The syntax included contained (1) latent profile analysis; (2) latent transition analysis; (3) regression with outcome and predictor variables. R markdown file for the data wrangling and visualization also available on Zenodo
The output file can be read with any text file processor, but can only be executed in Mplus. Version 2: adding two syntax files that are not yet included in the first upload
