Expectativas e Previsibilidade para as Empresas do Setor Bancário Brasileiro

Abstract

Utilizando-se técnicas não comuns para painéis não estacionários, o objetivo é analisar as expectativas e racionalidade dos agentes no mercado financeiro por meio do arcabouço teórico de que os preços correntes dos títulos dependem do valor presente dos dividendos futuros descontados. Desta forma, espera-se que preços e dividendos sejam séries não estacionárias que possuem uma relação estável de longo prazo (cointegração). Analisaram-se a série de preços e dividendos das empresas do setor bancário brasileiro com frequência trimestral ao longo de janeiro de 1994 ao segundo trimestre de 2012. Os resultados obtidos apontam para a eficiência de mercados na forma fraca.
