État actuel du calcul informatique de pointe au Canada

Abstract

Ce rapport sur l’état actuel résume le paysage du calcul informatique de pointe (CIP) au Canada et décrit les points forts, les enjeux et les perspectives d’avenir de l’écosystème actuel du CIP et de l’Alliance de recherche numérique du Canada (l’Alliance). Il a été rédigé par les membres du groupe de travail sur le CIP de l’Alliance et reflète leur point de vue ainsi que l’orientation de leurs efforts. Il ne s’agit pas de l’énoncé officiel de l’Alliance au sujet de l’état actuel du CIP au Canada. Ce document a pour objectif d’aider l’Alliance à fonder sa démarche sur l’état actuel du CIP et à établir les mesures qu’elle compte prendre pour renforcer le CIP en coordination avec les autres composantes de l’infrastructure de recherche numérique en vue de soutenir l’excellence en recherche au Canada. Les constatations et observations figurant dans ce document, tout comme dans les publications concernant l’évaluation de l’état actuel de la gestion des données de recherche et des logiciels de recherche, visent à fournir les conseils et les renseignements contextuels dont ont besoin les analystes et l’équipe de gestion de l’Alliance, de même que les membres du conseil d’administration et du Conseil des chercheurs de l’organisation, pour appuyer le processus d’évaluation des besoins ainsi que les processus d’élaboration du nouveau modèle de prestation des services, du plan stratégique et du modèle de financement.
