Gaceta Punto Crítico No.1 (abril-mayo) / Newsletter Punto Crítico No.1 (April-May)

Abstract

------------------------------------------------- The MeCCS team is pleased to welcome you to our bi-monthly newsletter Punto Crítico (Critical Point). A communication and outreach project with which we seek to dissolve the boundaries between highly technical and specialized knowledge to make it accessible to all those interested in exploring the carbon sequestration and sustainability topics. In this first issue (April - May 2022), you will find two news stories that explain how Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies work and some infographics related to the topic in the Sí, sí es (Yes, yes, it is) section. Additionally, in the CO2NVERSANDO (CON2VERSING) section, you will find an interview with Dr Omar Masera Cerutti, a researcher at the UNAM Ecosystem and Sustainability Research Institute, in which we address the role of technology as an intermediary and fundamental bridge in the human-nature relationship and the creation of sociotechnoecological systems. Finally, the Para llevar (Take-away) section contains recommendations for books, videos, podcasts and supplementary material that will allow you to delve into the topics covered in this newsletter. We hope you enjoy this first issue and, if you wish, contact our team to send us your comments or subjects of interest.
