REPERE DIN ISTORIA FANFAREI RURALE ÎN SPAȚIUL CULTURAL AL REPUBLICII MOLDOVA

Abstract

Fanfare music is a valuable field of traditional Romanian culture. In the art of oral tradition, aerophone instruments have a rich history with roots in Thracian-Geto-Dacian culture. The establishment of the marching band as an organized band with a certain status of activity is directly related to the reform of the national army in the nineteenth century. At the same time, the development of the instrumental professionalism of oral tradition, the tendency of enriching the instrumentation by its representatives ndash; fiddlers, led to the creation of fiddle fanfares, which enjoy great popularity, especially since the twentieth century. Taking into account the socio-cultural environment of activity and the musical repertoire performed, two types of fanfare can be delimited: military and civilian. The civil ones, in their turn, are manifested in the rural and urban environment, ensuring activities specific to the context. If the urban civil marching bands compete with the military ones, the marching band in the rural space can be considered a natural continuation of the instrumental professionalism of oral tradition. In this article we will refer to some aspects of the history of the rural civil marching band in the cultural space of the Republic of Moldova.
