The 3rd Workshop on hydro-climate extremes for Senior Researchers was held of February 28, March 2 and 4, 2022 as a hybrid event from Climate Risk Analysis, Germany. The first day of the SRs Workshop 3 (28.02.2022) was dedicated to “Temporal scaling of sub-daily extreme rainfall”. Prof. Robert Wilby introduced a new advanced version of Statistical DownScaling Model (SDSM 6.1) as a decision support tool for assessing local climate change impacts using a robust statistical downscaling technique. The second day of the SRs Workshop 3 was reserved for a lecture about extreme events and the estimation of the occurrence rates. Dr. Manfred Mudelsee talked about Extreme value time series, stationary and nonstationary methods. The third day of the SRs Workshop 3 was reserved for Dr. Carley Iles and the lecture “Ensembles, variability and uncertainty in projections. Large quantities of data were provided with ready-to-use scripts in the practical part. The lecture videos are available on EXtremeClimTwin YouTube Channel of extremes”.
