The Bay of Plenty Climatology is a daily climatology estimated from a 25+ years (1994-2020) high-resolution (~1 km horizontal resolution) hydrodynamic hindcast of Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. This repository contains 12 files, corresponding to each month, with the 3D daily climatology for sea surface elevation, temperature, salinity, velocity (u, v) and in z-coordinates. For practicality the time units are referenced to hours since day 0 and the calendar used is a 366 day-year. For more information about available datasets please visit the project webpage at https://www.moanaproject.org/ For the sigma coordinates version of the climatology please access the Moana Project THREDDS server A description of the configuration of the simulation is provided by Montaño M. M., Suanda S. H., de Souza J. M. A. C. (2023). Modelled coastal circulation and Lagrangian statistics from a large coastalembayment: The case of Bay of Plenty, Aotearoa New Zealand. Estuarine Coast.
