This report focuses on the portion of the Upper Mississippi River between Mile Marker 338 and Mile Marker 462—a stretch encompassing Locks 16 through 20 in southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri. This part of the river system is an important artery for agricultural shipments. The objective of this study was to develop a statistical profile of the study segment using Automated Identification System (AIS) data. This study also analyzed the impact of several variables on system performance and developed forecast models based on these variables. The data used in this study are for 2018, 2019, and 2020.
