Resumen Este artículo tiene como propósito exponer las aportaciones de la orientación familiar al manejo de las implicaciones derivadas del confinamiento social generado por el COVID-19. El mismo deja ver la necesidad de orientar a la familia en el desarrollo de competencias emocionales y habilidades sociales que propicien la convivencia positiva. Además, se propone que este factor de socialización debe recuperar su rol protagónico de cooperar con la educación de los hijos, mediante la creación de espacios positivos psicológica, afectiva y socialmente, en los que emerjan la comunicación asertiva y el diálogo simétrico que potencie el aprendizaje, la autonomía, la responsabilidad y la convivencia. En consecuencia, las circunstancias por las que atraviesa la humanidad, demandan que se integre la orientación familiar como un eje transversal dentro de los planes de estudio, con la finalidad de acompañar a padres, hijos y escuela en la tarea de adaptarse a los cambios, a las nuevas pautas de trabajo y en desarrollo del sentido de co-responsabilidad, como requerimientos para sobrellevar las transformaciones que experimenta el mundo en todas sus dimensiones. Abstract This article to expose the contributions of family counseling of the issues involved in the social confinement generated by the COVID-19. It shows the need to guide the family in the development of emotional and social skills that promote positive coexistence. In addition, it is proposed that this socialization factor must regain its leading role in cooperating with the education of children, by creating psychological, emotional and socially positive spaces, in which assertive communication and symmetrical dialogue emerge that enhances learning, autonomy, responsibility and coexistence. Consequently, the circumstances being experienced by humanity, claim that family orientation as a crosscutting issue is integrated into the curriculum, in order to accompany parents, children and school in the task of adapting to changes, new work patterns and developing a sense of co-responsibility, as requirements to cope with the transformations that the world experiences in all its dimensions.
