A memória na comunidade científica e museológica moderna

Abstract

MEMORY IN THE MODERN SCIENTIFIC AND MUSEOLOGICAL COMMUNTTY Abstract: With a Latin origin, transmitted by the root memor, oris — that remembers, that recalls, that admonishes, that brings to memory, grateful — and memoria, ae — memory, remembrance, reminiscence, past time, tradition — the word “memória” (memory) has as synonyms, remembrance, line, record, tradition, writing(inscription), meanings that are incorporated to the process of modern sciences. To situate the function and representativeness of memory in the current scientific community, one should begin by describing how they intervened historically, focusing, namely, on the way they emerged, then circumscribe the most significant changes that occurred during this process, not forgetting the milestones that could be considered important to enable a well-founded statement, when it is intended to characterize them within the epistemological configuration that allows us to think. It is also necessary to insert them in the deconstruction that category of time, approaching the instant, and the category of space, rendered equal to what is close, is undergoing, by means of mechanisms inherent to the phenomenon of globalization. Tradition and the individual or collective (social) memory of scientists and museologists, a topic that includes the influences that intervene in the construction of identity and of the culture inherent to what they think and do, also includes how their knowledge is (re)produced, emphasizing the methodologies. In other words, the means by which scientists and museologists surround and are surrounded by memory, the frontiers, margins and bridges of exchange mechanisms in the sciences, and how the social and cultural terms of the historical line act in them.? Keywords: memory; scientific community; museology.
