Abstract

En esta investigación de tipo proyecto factible se propuso el diseño de un software educativo para el reforzamiento del vocabulario de los estudiantes de la Práctica de Inglés I, asignatura del Departamento de Idiomas de la Universidad de Carabobo. Ésta se desarrolló en tres fases: (a) diagnóstico y factibilidad, donde se aplicó un test a 30 alumnos de la Práctica II para medir su nivel de vocabulario y un cuestionario a dos docentes de la Práctica del Inglés I; así mismo, se determinó la posibilidad de crear el software; (b) diseño del software; y (c) la fase de evaluación donde se estableció la calidad del programa. Los resultados del diagnóstico arrojaron un bajo nivel de vocabulario de los estudiantes debido a la falta de tiempo para ejercitar y reforzar el contenido en clase. De esta manera, se evidenció la necesidad de crear una herramienta didáctica adicional que contrarrestara el problema detectado. Para ello, se estudió la viabilidad de su creación y se diseñó un software educativo, cuya evaluación por parte de expertos mostró que posee la calidad necesaria para cumplir con el objetivo propuesto.
