Abstract: Is it possible a Lakatosian proposal to the study of facial component in mammals? In this paper we discuss the application of Scientific Research Programs (PIC) proposed by Lakatos to the problematic raised in the facial component analysis in mammals. To do this, we state the necessity of some conceptual modifications to the PIC. The paper shows the feasibility of the application of the PIC's theoretical methodological structuration to punctual problems as posed in the field of the biology. We conclude that a structured PIC as it is presented here, is a progressive PIC that can explain a set of facts belonging to different disciplines and have predictive power.
