Autonomes Fahren - Risiken und Chancen für die Städte

Abstract

Vernetzt, autonom, smart, elektrisch. Begleitet von diesen Schlagworten kursieren zahlreiche Visualisierungen zum autonomen Fahren. Fast alle zeigen einen belebten, urbanen und stark begrünten öffentlichen Raum mit hoher Aufenthaltsqualität. Radfahrer, Fußgänger und autonome Fahrzeuge bewegen sich in harmonischem Miteinander bewegen. Auch der Parkdruck ist verschwunden, abgesehen von vereinzelt wartenden autonomen Mini-Shuttles. Aber ist eine solche Entwicklung wirklich zu erwarten? Vor diesem Hintergrund entstand das Projekt AutoRICH: Es beleuchtet die Chancen und Risiken des autonomen Fahrens für die Städte und ihre Bewohner:innen und untersucht, welche Weichen heute schon gestellt werden müssten, um eine Entwicklung anzustoßen, damit das das autonome Fahren die oben beschriebenen Visionen wirklich eintreten können.
