Abstract

Methylated Salmalia malabarica gum on hydrolysis his been found to yield 2, 3, 4, 6-tetra-, 2, 6-di-, and 2,4-di-O-methyl-D-galctose and 2,3,5-tri-and 2,5-di-O-methyl-L-arabinose. A probable structure for the gum has been suggested in the light of there and previous results.
