Abstract

Nicolaus Lindberg Nicolaus 1958: 176. Type species: Nicolaus xerophilus Lindberg, by original designation. Jubrinia Linnavuori 1962: 54. Type species: Jubrinia distincta Linnavuori, by original designation; synonymy by Stiller 1998:326. Creamy white to ochraceous with brown markings. Crown of head as long or longer than interocular width, shagreen with disc depressed, coronal sulcus well developed. Ocelli on anterior margin placed a distance slightly longer than own diameter from eye. Pronotum flattish, with rounded lateral margins, medially longer than scutellum, posterior margin straight. Forewing with claval veins separate, outer claval vein connected to claval suture by one cross vein, four apical and three subapical cells, inner subapical cell closed posteriorly. Profemur broadest at midlength, rather stout; AD row of setae restricted to basal half, except three apical setae; intercalary row with slender long setae arranged in shallow arch; AM1 present stout; AV row stout, with two setae shorter and more slender (Fig. 45). Protibia with 4+1 setae. Hind femoral chaetotaxy 2+2+1. Male genitalia with pygofer moderately sclerotized, rather depressed, sometimes with prominent X-shaped thickening along anterior margin continued on dorsum (Fig. 44), pesterordorsal area with long marcrosetae. Valve large, triangular. Subgenital plate short, about half as long as pygofer in lateral aspect, apex either rounded or truncate, often with sclerotized toothed ridge dorsally, with uniseriate lateral row of long setae. Style variable, with perceptible subapical lobe, apophysis with or without sclerotized toothed area. Connective articulated with aedeagus, stem short and broad posteriorly, arms fused in anterior half. Aedeagus with short dorsal apodeme and pair of preatrial processes, shaft membranous sometimes with sclerotized medial rod. Female seventh sternite medially incised, incision exceeding 0.20–0.50 of median length, first pair of valvulae slightly arcuate, with sculptured area on distal 0.75 length (Figs 57, 61, 65, 69). Second pair of valvulae slightly arcuate, dorsal toothed area occupying 0.4 distal length, teeth prominent and distant in basal 0.75 area (Figs 59, 63), with secondary serrations (Figs 60, 64, 68, 72).
