Drosophila (Sophophora) pseudoobscura Frolova, 1929 Drosophila pseudoobscura Frolova, 1929: 212. Type /s and depository unknown. North America. Drosophila lancefieldi Ginsburg, 1940. Nomen nudum. Distribution: AU: New Zealand. NE: British Columbia to Montana, s. to Bolivia. Egyptian localities: Coastal Strip: Alexandria (Yassin & Abou-Youssef 2004). Dates of collection: May to October. Remarks: This is an Australasian and Nearctic species, not Palaearctic, so we think it was probably misidentified by Yassin & Abou-Youssef (2004). Unfortunately the specimens of this identification are not available to ensure the identification.
