Fiji script for the analysis of in vivo degraded Mg-xGd, Ti and PEEK implants in rats bone

Abstract

Current Fiji script has been written as a part of my PhD thesis, which was dealing with Mg-Gd alloys as implant materials. It is an analysis script of tomographic data from synchrotron radiation micro-computed tomography station at DESY (Hamburg, Germany). Those are ex vivo data from in vivo corroded Mg-Gd implants in rats bone for 3 different time points (4, 8 and 12 weeks degradation). The script delivers information about the degradation rate and the pitting factor of the screw formed implants. Additionally, implant's integration into the bone is also analyzed via parameters like bone to implant contact are and bone volume density of the bone surrounding the implant.
