Using N-\(p\)-acetaminobenzenesulphonyl glycine (R\(a\)H2) and N-\(p\)-aminobenzenesulphonyl glycine (R\(m\)H2) as ligands, complex compounds isolated in the pure states are Cu(R\(a\)H) (OH)(H2O); Hg(R\(a\)H) (OH)(H2O)2H2O; Ag(R\(a\)H); Pb(R\(a\)H)22H2O; MII(R\(m\)H)2 where MII = Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II); Ba Cu(R\(m\))2 and Ag(R\(m\)H). Magnetic susceptibility data of all Cu(II) complexes and electronic spectra of Cu(R\(m\)H)2 in alkaline solution as well as of the ligands R\(a\)H2 and R\(m\)H2 have been determined and a discussion has been made.
