Abstract

Chemistry Dept., University of Lucknow, Lucknow. Manuscript received 20 February 1975 ; revised 2 June 1975 ; accepted 24 June 1975. Diphenylamine-2-carboxylic acid hydrazides, synthesised by the hydrazinolysis of methyl diphenylamine-2-carboxylates have been condensed with aromatic aldehydes, ketones and α-­isonitrosopropiophenone. Some of the compounds possessed 'significant' antibacterial activity.
