Influencia de la industria pesquera en la macrofauna bentónica en la Bahía de Coishco, Perú

Abstract

Las comunidades bentónicas desempeñan un papel importante en los ecosistemas marinos, es por ello que se hace necesario evaluar la influencia de la industria pesquera sobre la macrofauna bentónica en época de pesca y veda en la bahía de Coishco. Para lo cual se realizaron monitoreos en temporada de pesca y veda, determinándose variables ambientales y riqueza específica, abundancia y biomasa del bentos submareal e intermareal. Se obtuvo que existen diferencias significativas de los sólidos suspendidos totales y del oxígeno disuelto en la zona submareal en época de pesca y veda, así como del pH en la zona intermareal. En ambas temporadas, las especies se agruparon en cinco phyla: Annelida, Arthropoda, Cnidaria, Echinodermata y Molussca. En época de pesca hubo menor abundancia de organismos que en época de veda; esta misma tendencia se presenta en la zona IM. Se presentan en la zona submareal las especies Polydora socialis y Stramonita chocolata en tres puntos de muestreo, donde no se encontró ningún organismo en temporada de pesca, así como Nephtys sp. en la zona intermareal. Se determinó que no existe diferencia significativa en la abundancia, número de especies y biomasa en la comunidad bentónica de la Bahía de Coishco, en ambas temporadas y zonas de muestreo, no obstante, se evidencian cambios favorables en algunos puntos de muestreo en temporada de veda, respecto al número de individuos y las especies encontradas, considerándose que existe influencia de la industria pesquera en la comunidad bentónica.
