Summary Onychocryptosis is a pathology of the fibula in which, by physical stress, it causes hypertrophic growth of the phaneral germ base, whichresults in a dysmorphic nail plate that is extremely painful, affecting the correct biomechanics of ambulation. 19 year old patient male, phototype 2, complaining of intense mycosis, pain, pruritus, and edema in the nails of both feet with 8 years of evolution, presenting severechronic infection of the nail bed, phaneros in poor general condition, with traumatic injuries of real importance. Due to the severity of the injuries, was opted for a treatment propaedeutic including antibiotics, even if the literature and practice do not recommend, satisfying andaccelerating the healing process. The Matricectomy procedure performed with chemical cauterization with ATA 80% resulted in themorphologically normal, not showing a glassy appearance. then we affirm that in certain cases the use of pharmacological agentsof antibiotic and/or fungal action is necessary in lesions of evident chronicity.
