Department of Chemistry, Ravenshaw College, Cuttaek-753 003 Manuscript received 8 August 1979, accepted 30 November 1979 Complexes of diethanolamine of the composition [ML2]X2 or [ML2X2] have been synthesised where M = Co(Il), Ni(II), Cd(II) and X= Cl-, Br-, NO2-, NCS- and ClO-4. These have been characterised on the basis of analysis, conductance, magnetic moment, infrared and electronic spectral studies.
