Mixed Complexes of Copper(II)

Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur-721 302 Manuscript received 3 October 1983, revised 23 March 1984, accepted 21 July 1984 The complexes of the type (CuLL" X] or [CuL'HL"]X2 (LH=HATU, 1-amidino-2- thiourea or HNMATU, N-methyl-1-amidino-2-thiourea; L'H-=HSEATU, S-ethyl-1- amidino-2-thiourea ; L" =\(\propto\)\(\propto\)' -dipyridyl/O-phenanthroline; X= Cl/Br) have been isolated from methanol medium and characterized mainly from electronic spectra. The five coordinated complexes obtained for HATU and HNMATU contain square pyramidal geometry while HSEATU complexes contain square planar one.
