Abstract

Klimawissenschaftlerinnen und -wissenschaftler haben eine Berechnungsmethode für CO2-Äquivalente entwickelt, die den Zeitverlauf der Klimawirkung von Methan oder anderen kurzlebigen Substanzen realistischer erfasst als die aktuell in den internationalen Klimaabkommen verwendete Umrechnung. Dieser Bericht stellt die neue Metrik vor und zeigt auf, für welche Fragestellungen die Klimawirkung von Methan neu beurteilt werden sollte.
