Abstract

In diesem Beitrag werden zwei methodische Herangehensweisen an das Ph��nomen literarischer Raummetaphern im 18.-21 Jahrhundert kontrastiert. Ausgangspunkt der Untersuchung war die automatische Erkennung und Klassifizierung von Raumreferenzen in literaischen Texten mithilfe von Machine-Learning-Technologie. Da Metaphern sich dabei als erheblicher St��rfaktor erwiesen, wurden diese zun��chst ins Training mit einbezogen. Als die Methode der automatisierten Metaphern-Erkennung scheiterte, wurde eine relationale Graphdatenbank literarischer Raummetaphern (laRa) angelegt. Eine Metadatenanalyse von laRa zeigt, warum das maschinelle Erlernen der Erkennung von Raummetaphern in literarischen Texten scheitern musste. Sie gibt au��erdem eine Reihe von Hinweisen auf Gestaltung und Nutzung literarischer Raummetaphern. Eine Beispielanalyse der "Weg"-Metapher verdeutlicht, inwiefern Spezifik und Variantenreichtum im diachronen Verlauf charakteristisch f��r Raummetaphern sind und dient als Cross-Falsifizierung der zuerst gew��hlten Methodik. Ein Betrag zur 8. Tagung des Verbands "Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum" - DHd 2022 Kulturen des digitalen Ged��chtnisses.
