Department of Chemistry, Agra College, Agra-282 002 Manuscript received 30 September 1982, revised 4 July 1983, accepted 26 November 1983 Mixed complexes of Cd(II) with oxalate (Ox2-) and β-picoline (Pico) have been studied polarographically at constant ionic strength [µ=2.0 (NaNO2)] and at constant рH 8. The reduction of the complexes at d.m.e. is reversible and diffusion controlled. Three mixed complexes, [Cd(Ox)(Pico)], [Cd(Ox)(Pico)2] and [Cd(Ox)2(Pico)]2- are formed. Their overall stability constants at 25° are log β 11=4.1, log β 12=4.95 and log β21 = 4.84, respectively.
