Pyllonorycter lemarchandi

The lemarchandi group The lemarchandi group includes one species, P. lemarchandi (Viette, 1951). This species can superficially be confused with species of Porphyrosela, but it differs in male and female genitalia. Because it differs considerably with any of the other Phyllonorycter species groups, we place it in its own group. Valva extraordinally narrow, with sharp apex, transtilla semi-rounded, arc-shaped, sternum VIII descaled, almost rounded. Female genitalia are unique among Afrotropical Phyllonorycter in having a very broad, highly melanized, long, tube-shaped antrum.
