Culex (Culex) pipiens, L. Tananarive ( Neiret, 190 4; Ventrillon, 1905). This record forms a further notable extension of the known range of this species, which until recently was thought to be confined to the temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. I t is now known also from South and East Africa and from the Argentine.
