Differe de braunsi par son petiole un peu plus court et un peu plus arque sur les cotes. Les epines sont plus comprimees et s'amincissent moins brusquement de la base a l'apex. Aussi robuste que braunsi, c'est a dire bien plus que chez natalensis. Chez rectinota For. les du petiole sont plus droits. Natal: Eastcourt (R. C. Wrougton, recue de Mr. G. Arnold).
