Liparis Rich., Glanzkraut Knollen 2, kugelig oder eiförmig. Stengel wenigstens am Grunde beblättert. Blütenstand wenig-blütig, allseitswendig. Perigonblätter abstehend, schmal, die Ränder nach außen umgerollt, so daß wenigstens die innern Perigonblätter fadenförmig erscheinen; Lippe aufwärts gerichtet, horizontal oder abwärts gebogen, nicht geteilt, am Rande kraus; kein Sporn. Die Gattung Liparis umfaßt etwa 260 Arten, die, mit Ausnahme der Arktis und Antarktis, über die ganze Erde verbreitet sind; besonders artenreich sind die Monsungebiete Asiens.
