Abstract

Crocidium chrysonotum Hesse, 1938 (Fig. 3) Crocidium chrysonotum Hesse 1938: 789, 793­795; Hesse, 1963: 277, 285, 286; Hull, 1973: 185; Bowden, 1980: 399; Evenhuis & Greathead, 1999: 215. Spermathecae: spermathecae globose with longitudinal axis equivalent to ½ of sperm pump length; spermathecal ducts 9 times longer than sperm pump, uniting to form a short common spermathecal duct; sperm pump placed at nearly basal 1/4 of the spermathecal duct; sclerotized collars of sperm pumps smaller on basal ends than on apical ones (Fig. 3). Material examined: Paratype. South Africa. Northern Cape: Kamieskroon (Namaqualand), 1 female (dissected), (collector unknown). Deposited in the South African Museum, Cape Town, South Africa.
