Ernocornutia gualaceoana Razowski & Wojtusiak 2006

Abstract

Ernocornutia gualaceoana Razowski & Wojtusiak, 2006 Diagnosis. Ernocornutia gualaceoana is superficially similar to most of its congeners, with a poorly developed forewing pattern and a pale brownish cream ground color. The male genitalia are very similar to those of E. paracatopta and E. chiribogana, sharing with them a club-shaped uncus with a narrow base and rounded tip; a sacculus that is broadly curved along the venter, terminating in an attenuate, distally-pointed process; and a relatively short, stout aedeagus. Ernocornutia gualaeceoana can be distinguished from those species by the more developed distal portion of the gnathos arms and much broader base of the triangular region at the venter of the valva representing the termination of the sacculus. Remarks. The adult and male genitalia of this species are illustrated by Razowski and Wojtusiak (2006). The species was described based on a single male from Ecuador, Prov. Morona-Santiago, Gualaceo-Limon Road. The type is deposited in ZMJU.
